Impervious surface mapping – Cobb County (USA)

With the cooperation of  Critigen and CH2M HILL we carried out a  project for Cobb County, Georgia. The aim of the project was to create a layer set of impervious surfaces for the  fees collection for a rain and  melt water sewer system. The scope of the project covered an area of over 100 km2 divided into 50 tiles. This task was carried out in two phases.

Project stages
Phase I

Orthomosaic-based digitisation of all impervious surfaces such as roofs, driveways, sidewalks, walkways, roads and parking lots.

Phase II

Full data quality control process and creation of a topologically correct vector database which was a assessment  basis to the relevant authorities.
