We participated in the implementation of the implementation of the electricity grid passporting system at RWE IT Polska (currently Innogy).
The scope of services included professional GIS services, including consultations in the field of implementation methodology, passporting, data migration, quality control and programming services. Services implemented under a framework contract provided directly for the project management.
As part of the work, we carried out a number of consultations in the field of project management and technical development of project documentation, including project schedule, data migration strategy, passporting methodology, data cleaning strategy, and data quality control.
One of the most important tasks carried out during the work was the development of dedicated programming tools to enable the quality control of data migration. The subject of the audit was the network data from migration from an environment based on Smallworld solutions to a target system based on ESRI solutions. The scope of the project was a comprehensive quality control service; from the preparation of the control methodology, through the development and implementation of dedicated programming tools, to carrying out a series of inspections of each stage of migration together with the development of detailed reports describing the results.
Control tools prepared by us were developed in two different environments, ie Smallworld and ESRI, and the way they operate had to be identical despite differences in the data model.
